Rostock (LEN) – The LEN awards for the best “Diver of the Year 2014” of the European Swimming Federation, LEN, will be given during the victory ceremony at the Arena European Diving Championships in Rostock on Saturday. The LEN awards will go again to Germany’s Patrick Hausding and Italy’s Tania Cagnotto. While Cagnotto received the award for the fifth time after 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013, it was the second time for Hausding after 2013.

At the 2014 European Championships in Berlin Cagnotto claimed two gold medals (1m as well as in the synchro 3m together with Francesca Dallapè) and one silver medal (3m). On the other hand, Hausding earned four medals in Berlin last year. He took the European Championship title in the 1m and 3m event as well as in the synchro 10m together with his partner Sascha Klein. Additionally, he claimed the silver medal in the synchro 3m with Stephan Feck.

Both divers were elected by a jury of swimming sport journalists from all over Europe and representatives of the 52 LEN Member Federations. The LEN Award will be presented in Rostock by Len Bureau Member and Bureau Liaison for Diving, Andriy Vlaskov (Ukraine).
